Watkinson School's Annual Fund benefits every student.
Gifts to Watkinson School's Annual Fund: The Fund for Everyday Excellence has an immediate impact and enhances opportunities on every student's educational experience.  Whether it's funding for scholarships, innovative academic programs, library resources, athletic or creative arts equipment, gifts to the Annual Fund are unrestricted. By making a gift to the Annual Fund, you are ensuring that the school has the flexibility to meet challenges and address its greatest needs.

How to Make a Gift

  1. Mail a check payable to Watkinson School to the attention of the Development Office.
  2. Make a gift online (We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express).
  3. Make a gift over the phone by calling the Development Office at 860-570-8128.

Double the Value of Your Contribution

Many corporations offer matching gift programs to their employees and their families. Matching gift support often doubles an individual’s gift, and all matching support is credited to the donor as recognition of their total giving.  Simply obtain a matching gift form, normally from your company’s human resource department, complete the necessary information and return it to the school with your gift.

  • Q: How do I make a cash gift or a gift by check?

    Donors should make checks payable to Watkinson School and note Annual Fund. The mailing address is:

  • Q: Can I give online with my credit card?

    Complete your gift via credit card using the school's secure online giving webpage: www.watkinson.org/giving/makeagift 

    Donors may also give over the phone by calling the Development Office at 860-231-6294. Watkinson accepts VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.
  • Q: How can I set up a recurring gift?

    To set up a recurring gift, paid in monthly or quarterly installments, please contact Rita Ramos in the Development Office at 860-570-8123. Recurring gifts allow you to provide consistent support to Watkinson. By contributing manageable increments over the course of the year, you can maximize the impact of your gift to Watkinson while avoiding a large, one-time sum.  
  • Q: How can I set up a stock transfer and take advantage of that tax benefit?

    By giving securities directly to Watkinson you are able to take a tax deduction for the full value of the stock. When transferring gifts of stock, please notify the school of the donor's name, name of the stock, and number of shares so that your gift may be processed quickly and accurately.

  • Q: I would like to know more about IRA transfers.

    If you are 70 1/2 or older and own a traditional or Roth IRA, you can transfer up to $100,000 in a given tax year to any public charity of your choice, including Watkinson.  Such a gift counts towards your required minimum distribution and, though you will not be eligible for a tax deduction, your gift will not count towards your taxable income.
